Octo Ninja – Lighting, FX, and Compositing Artist
Octo Ninja is a comedic animated short film produced by the Animation Lab at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2021. The story follows an eight-legged ninja hero as he battles his way to a final confrontation with his squid-like arch-nemesis.
In my role as Lighting, FX, and Compositing Artist, I was responsible for:
Lighting Design: Crafted and implemented lighting setups that enhanced the film's comedic tone and dynamic action sequences, ensuring each scene conveyed the intended mood and atmosphere.
Visual Effects: Developed and integrated visual effects that complemented the narrative, adding depth and excitement to key moments.
Compositing: Seamlessly combined various visual elements, ensuring consistency and visual coherence throughout the film.
Collaborating closely with a team of over 50 students, I contributed to the film's visual storytelling by balancing technical precision with creative expression. Octo Ninja garnered recognition, winning Best Design at The Black & White Film Festival.
